Welcome to sketchingspirit. This sketchblog is a place where I post images from my sketchbooks, journals, and paintings. Plus a few random thoughts, ideas and other inspirations as they cross my path.
I spent the weekend working on colored pencil practice sheets for class this week. Besides being a lot of fun and relaxing, they are wonderful exercises in layering and control of the Prismacolor medium.
This is my solution to the Flash Card Assignment I gave to my students last semester. The black and white image is an image transfer on a gridded Moleskine page with various colored pencil embellishments.
A postcard design done for the latest gallery exhibition on campus.
The postcard is for an exhibition of prints
done by the artist Jasper Johns. More of my postcard design work
for the gallery can be seen
in my Flickr set.
