Holding Court

This is a piece was completed this summer. It is another of my favorites in this summer series and the title refers to the royal courts that were held by kings and queens in years past. These flowers bloom as they once did, holding court today in all their glory.

This is a recent work completed last month. I love documenting my day to day observations in my sketchbook and this little painting is an extension of that passion. You can see the thumbnail sketch this was based off in my previous post.

1977 VW Bug with Black Convertible Top

This recent work was completed last month. This VW bug was actually for sale on the corner of Patterson and 1st in Grand Junction, Colorado. You can see the thumbnail sketch this was based off in my previous post.

Little Thumbnail Studies for Paintings

I have been painting this summer (oil on canvas panels). These little sketches are tiny 1.5 inch-square thumbnail studies for those paintings done in ink, colored pencil and watercolor. (I will be posting the paintings very soon.)

The image on the left is a 1977 yellow VW bug with a black convertable roof. The truck on the left is a older Chevy truck I found in Fruita, Colorado.
