After I tossed the round badge idea for my sticker, this die-cut version ended up being a sticker that was handed out to participants in the event. This particular item was met with great enthusiasm and the students thought it was awesome!
(If you are one of my graphic design students or alumni, yes that is a drop shadow. I am only using it here to show the nice thick white border detail.)
I worked this badge up last summer when I was playing with compositions and the idea of badge type sticker. In the end, I decided to toss it as a sticker design and used it on the postcard and website as a promotional graphic.
This past month the CMU Art Department hosted our annual open house. As part of the day's events, we hosted a road-roller printmaking for all the students, faculty, alumni and invited guests. It was a great success and our biggest event with the largest turnout we have ever seen for this kind of activity. The prints were hung in the gallery as they were drying. I had a bit of fun creating the graphics for this event and this is my postcard design for the gallery exhibit.
