Across the Tracks... is a view from the train station in Grand Junction, Colorado last fall.
The Colorado National Monument is in the Distance, and there are lots and lots of trees with varying stages of fall colors. The houses are separated from the tracks and roads by a simple white fence. And that makes for a nice precise line across the page in my Strathmore Toned Gray Paper sketchbook.
Here is another tiny oil painting of a local house. The title of this one is: Three. Across the Street on 7th. It measures are 3 x 6.25 inches inches and it is oil on gessoed paper. You can see it at the local art center here in Grand Junction, Colorado. Go see it if you are in the area.
This is a tiny oil painting of a local house. The measurements are 2.5 x 3.25 inches and it is oil on gessoed paper. It is the first in a series I have been working recently on to combine my sketchbook focus and my painting efforts together in one.
It is currently on exhibit at the local art center here in Grand Junction, Colorado. Go see it if you are in the area.
This is another sketch from a field trip last semester with my sketchbook students. It is a view from the Tabeguache Trailhead - looking East towards the Bookcliffs on October 8, 2013. The class visited this spot right outside the Colorado National Monument during the shutdown as an alternate location.
